Design Challenge: Animating Text with a Voice Over, Motion, and Sound
The goal of this project was to a text animation to a voice-over. First, I created the style of the quote using Adobe InDesign and exported a reference image to be used later. I then recorded the quote using Adobe Audition. Finally, I begin working on the animation sequence of the text with the voice-over.

I then combined previous Photoshop work to create a motion graphic. This motion graphic was created using Adobe Premiere and AfterEffects. First, I started Adobe Premiere and brought in my soundtrack from previous work. Then I looked through a stock video site for video clips to add motion in the background that went with the soundtrack. I also took the graphic at the bottom and started it out larger to add to the piece's movement. Next, I brought in my Premier project into After Effects. I then adjusted the sound of the soundtrack with the voice-over and text animation.

Design Challenge: Color, Forms, and Images
The goal of this project was to create three image-based compositions without the use of typography. Each of the compositions was to communicate Earth Day. For each of the compositions, I made one element using Adobe Illustrator that would be carried throughout each of the three compositions. The element that I created was a tree graphic with branches that give people-like appearances. These people-like elements represent the thought that humans are a part of the tree of life and can be the reason to keep the planet safe.

For the first composition, I chose a background image of the ocean and, using the masking tool, masked over a plastic bag image. I included silhouettes of whales phased into the background. For the second composition, I used an image of a person canoeing on a lake. I then placed an image of trash over the background and made color and blending adjustments as needed. I then masked the trash image to allow the canoe, the person, and the tree line to be seen. I chose a background image of a person's hand in clean water for the third composition. I then found an image of the recycling symbol masking out the background. Additionally, I made color and blending adjustments to create a proper composition.

This design challenge was interesting because the images had to stand for themselves and communicate Earth Day without saying it using typographic elements. My goal was to convey a story with the images. The first images show how plastic waste ends up in oceans with ocean life. Then that leads to trash lying on top of the water, as shown by the second image. Finally, the story ends by if people recycle and dispose of waste properly, bodies of water can be clean and litter-free.
Design Challenge: Writing Advertising Copy for Print
For this design challenge, the goal was to develop a print ad for a publication with a compelling headline, body copy, and call to action using Adobe InDesign. I reviewed the creative brief provided and wrote a headline, body copy, and a call to action that aligned with the provided information. Next, I followed the document specs given to complete this challenge and chose a persuasive image that best fits the body copy. Finally, I put all of the elements together to create a print ad.

Two additional print ads for this challenge was created for a print campaign. I choose to write two different compelling headlines that matched the first ad. For the body copy, I continued the theme of the first ad while still keeping in mind the photo. I chose to keep the call to action the same through each piece since this is a campaign. Additionally, I kept the text formatting for the CTA, web address, and logo size to show consistency and give the campaign feel to this ad series.
Design Challenge: Writing Advertising Copy for Audio
For this design challenge, the goal was to develop a 30 second radio commercial and a companion display unit. I wrote a radio script that best reflected the provided creative brief and tied it back to the print ad from last weeks design challenge. I think recorded it using Adobe Audition and added music to support the commercial. I then created the companion display unit using Adobe Illustrator and grab elements from both the print ad and the radio script to create a cohesive campaign.
Design Challenge: Writing Advertising Copy for Video
For this design challenge, the goal was to develop a 30 second TV commercial. I wrote a script that best reflected the provided creative brief and picked audio clips that would accompany the video clips best. I recorded the script using Adobe Audition. Additionally, I added an audio clip of kids laughing and music that supported the commercial. I then created the video using Adobe Premiere, by combining the video clips and audio together.
